New Darcy Stuff

Well we really haven't been consistent bloggers this year, it has seen to go by very fast though and blogging is really low on the priority list.

Darcy has been hilarious lately, she walks, she talks, and loves to play with the dogs.

Darcy walking is sorta like a lot of people after a wild night on Bourbon St, but it gets the job done and she loves walking outside and playing kickball. Since her walking is getting better we are taking her in the backyard to play with the dogs and she thinks that is the greatest. Jeter loves to let Darcy hug him and she likes to lick his hair which is gross but whatever. Darcy still enjoys a good basketball game on tv, and is now getting in to baseball. She can say Baseball and points to it on Tv. I'm going to pick Darcy up on Monday from the office so we can watch the Yankees first game. I'm probably more excited than she is about opening day but we are starting a tradition so.... On the same note, Audri and I are playing Fantasy baseball with some friends at church and Audri has already struck fear in the hearts of these guys with her draft picks, I almost want her to win except that I want to win.

We are also struggling to find a name for the new girl, suggestions please.

Ok, here's the good stuff.

1st Birthday

We spent Valentine's Day - Darcy's 1st birthday in New Orleans. The day started at Pawpaw and Yaya's house for breakfast. She had yummy pancakes and fruit for break fast.

Anna Belle, Aunt Ali and Uncle Johnathon came with us to New Orleans. We took the girls to the Aquarium of the Americas.

The girls had a blast. Darcy and Anna Belle could not get a close enough look at everything swimming past them. Darcy kept knocking her head on the glass as she jumped to grab at whatever was swimming by. Since her head was already so close to the glass she would decide to take a good lick to see what the fish tasted like.

Neither one of the girls were ever frightened by what was in the water...no matter how big it was. Hence the laughter from Darcy in this last photo...she watched as the shark got closer and closer.

Flying Time

I don't know how it happens but time is flying around here. Darcy is almost a 1 year old. The last 3 months have been a blast, that kid has a personality and she is such an adorable little person. This past week we spent a lot of time together, she stayed home with me on Thursday and we sang Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes about 30 Times before we switched to If Your Happy and You Know It. We also managed to look at all the hanging pictures and art in the house at least 15 times. I'm so glad I get to have this time with her. Next week we are going to go to the Aquarium of the America's in New Orleans for her Birthday. Darcy loves our fish pictures, our Beta Fish Tweedy, and moving fish singing mobile that hangs on her bed. It should be a lot of fun, then next Sunday we'll have a Tigger and Pooh party at our house. Stay Tuned for Pictures.

Besides being busy with Darcy, Audri and I are disputing about what we would name another little girl, which promises that we will have a boy, but per chance it is another girl Audri is really into the name Faye. We would name a boy Leighton James, so we'll just have to wait until Feb. 25th to find out. This year Audri enters dorkdom and is going to play Fantasy Baseball with me. We are playing in a Yankee and Braves fan league and Audri's team name is Keith Lockhart Forever. Today, we talked draft strategy and ranked players. It should be a lot of fun to trash talk each other, and it's a great excuse to watch MORE baseball.

Lulu is getting married next month and that is going to be exciting. I don't know all of the details but rumor is that Sasha and Malia Obama are going to make an appearance. Well not really but it's not out of the question. There will more about this in the future so stay tuned.

Nice try Corey

We are not calling a little boy Percy Edmond. I think we are set on a little boys name already...don't worry it is not Percy. It is a little girls name that we are having a hard time with...

I think I am going to have to get a 2nd baby bed; Darcy will only be 17 months when new baby gets here. Boy or girl they are sharing a room...maybe later on I will think about letting them have their own rooms (that is if no other kids come along)
I am a firm believer in kids sharing rooms...I am barely committed to straightening 1room with toys...it just isn't going to happen with 2 rooms.

Darcy is still pretty full of herself. She is very talkative. It really seems like she is telling you a story in baby talk. She uses her hands when she tells stories. I have found her on more than one occation in her bed after she wakes up playing with her dolls. She loves to kiss the baby doll and let us kiss her baby doll.

She can do the following on command (we show her the words on flash cards, then we say it out loud).
Card Reads:
clap
wave
arms up
arms down
nose (she touches her nose when asked)
mouth (she opens her mouth and says "ah" when asked where her mouth is)
dog (she just tries to repeat the word)

There are more words but this is what I can think of at the moment.

New Year

Inconsistent blogging is so 2008, this year you can expect a lot more updating from us. We kicked my birthday or as most people call it New Years, by eating sushi at Shiso with friends and family then promptly falling asleep at 9:30 PM. It may be true that we aren't the most exciting people anymore but we enjoyed it. We are looking forward to the rest of the year and all the excitement that is sure to come, here's a glimpse in to our new year.

Jan 21 | Cousin Anna Belle's Birthday / Lost Premiere
Feb 1 | Super Bowl - my guess is Carolina v Ravens : Carolina Wins
Feb 14 | Darcy Birthday / Valentines
Marchish | Finding out whether our new baby is a boy or girl. My guess a Boy and we will call him Percy Edmond due July 17.

Ok, well I could only think of the new few months but that is a lot of goodness. Check back for new updates.

Christmas

We had a fun time with Darcy on her first Christmas. We did not go over board at our house with STUFF...lets face it...she gets stuff all year. However she did get her "favorite" My Friends Tigger and Pooh characters. She really likes the "Darby" doll.

Darcy, however greatful for all of her gifts, I think enjoyed the gift wrap more than the actual gifts at the time of opening. Here she is after a quick bite of the gift bow.

Darcy and Anna Belle I think had a great 1st Christmas! Aside from really racking up on the gifts I think they had fun at all the parties playing with the many family members. Ali and I kept talking about how we didn't buy our kids that much stuff...but somehow after all the parties I have to find bigger storage containers to hold all the new stuff...

The girls really enjoyed playing under Uncle Jerry and Aunt Cindy's glass coffee table. They thought it was funny that they could not touch the drinks that were placed on top of the table while they were under it.

And finally Christmas morning with the Rishel Families...The girls wore their Grinch shirts in support of Uncle Chevis's Bah-Humbug shirt that is worn every year.
