Prison Break

Yesterday on our way to church we encountered a prison break- no, not the kind like on fox where guys have bald heads and muscles, but the real one, with junkies and convicts running to freedom. This escape is in large part due to our jail in south mississippi.

Anyway- after church we drove 1 mile to Wal-Mart to finish purchasing some baby essentials- little did we know that 2 of the escapees were there right before us. Thankfully justice apprehended these guys before we arrived to buy our baby carseat headrest.

In other news...

The 2008 Australian Open had some of the best tennis I've ever seen, and finally someone other than Roger Federer/ and Troll Henin won a Grand Slam. Congrats Novak, and Maria.

Darcy is due in 18 days... I'll keep you all posted.

4 weeks to D-Day

Safe Baby Handling Tips
Funniest baby gift yet. Thank you Sarah for making me laugh.

I am trying not to get too hung up on the February 15th due date. I don't want to be disappointed if that day comes and goes, and still no baby. If she comes early I can deal with that...but I am mentally preparing myself for if she comes late. The family has taken bets on the size of the baby and the day they think she will come. Corey thinks is will be the 17th. We will see. He is also trying to convince me to allow the baby to come home from the hospital in a Yankee uniform to support pitchers and catchers reporting for spring training. He keeps watching a baby story and 2 of the babies came home in baseball uniforms...the difference between us and them, our child is supposed to be a little Girl. Corey does not think sex matters when it comes to Yankee baseball, you are either a fan or you are a loser.

Here is a late Christmas pic of Corey and I

Ok, now I am off to watch the Australian Open.

Audri is at 35 weeks today. and the Doc says all is well. Darcy and I had a good heart to heart this week- she has finally warmed up to my manly voice and responded really well to Yankee talk so I know she is very intelligent. here is what she should look like.

Well it was worth the try

Ok, so the birthing class at the hospital was pretty much a waste of time. Very disappointing. I think we could have gotten more out of a book. We are going to the "welcome" class tomorrow, so we will get to tour the labor and delivery floor, the baby nursery and NICU at the hospital. Corey was a good sport in the class yesterday. It was very odd. The room was packed with couples and setup like a classroom, lots of charts and videos. After we watched 3 birth stories the nurse teaching our class informed us, that all the different things that the women were doing while laboring (which was why we watched the videos) were things that were not practiced at our hospital. Everything we watched the nurse would say, "Well, we don't allow that at this hospital." Corey is very hesitant about going back to any classes this woman teaches. So we have yet to "see" what is allowed at our hospital.

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN....

Not only is The Final Countdown a bad song by Europe-
My current embarassing ringtone (not to be out down by Redneck Woman-thanks to ali)and the soundtrack to Gob Bluths Illusion show.... it is the days in which Audri and I are living. Darcy Elizabeth Neyland is well on her way. Kinda like waiting on Santa Claus when your little, but this Santa Claus stays and you have to change the dirty diapers, and stay awake at night with- and then there is the fact that Darcy will not look anything like Santa.

Today, I watched A Baby Story on TLC- not a real confidence builder, so I quit watching it and decieded to just read the What to Expect book with Audri. Tomorrow we are going to birthing class- SMILE- and then Monday night we are going to visit the hospital- SMILE. Thanks to everyone who attended the December 27th shower, we appreciate all of your love and support.

I had a rockin birthday party on Dec 31 @ Chilli Willies and then we watched 6 episodes of LOST with Lizzy P, Marcie L, Zach C, and Lily K. Bringing in the new year with Dr. Jack is the only way.
